Mission

SeeDAO is a network polis based on blockchain. Its mission is to connect 1 million crypto nomads and help build "connection, flow, exchange, and freedom" among community members. To this end, SeeDAO keeps launching Web3 public goods for the Chinese-speaking world, incubating the basic tools of DAO, building IRL network and helping more people live in DAO.

• To be specific, we have a strong feeling that the old order built by nation states is falling down. In the system where we are living, people are facing with high unemployment rate, information control, political propoganda, economy war and hot war risk, most of which are produced by nation states. It’s worth noting that young people merely from every countries are tring to run out of their own land. Now we need to build an order beyond nation states, which can provide people with living space whenever they are thrown out of the old systems.

Meta Protocol (DAOstitution)

As a network polis, SeeDAO is governed by community members according to its Meta Protocol, rather than governed by a company or a small group started by its founders.

SeeDAO’s Meta Protocol emphasizes the power of contributors and cooadinating contributors to create a network polis beyond nation states. • How to understand “beyond nation states”: What matters is not the nationality of the members nor where they live, but whether they recognize our idea and goal, and whether they are ready to contribute to the network. SeeDAO is not just for people living in mainland China, although its offcicial language is Mandarin.

Community(Population)

SeeDAO has more than 10,000 members, 800 contributors and 60 core contributors, with Mandarin acting as the offcial language.

According to our survey, 1/4 of SeeDAO’s members are university students around the world; 1/5 of them are developers, especially developers who want to change from Web2 to Web3. The rest of them are PM, designers, artists, writers, researchers, marketing workers and scientists.

SeeDAO’s members share such a profile: middle-calss; high educated (easy to find PHD); young and open-minded; working remotely; crypto-lovers; coopreative; having a strong desire to build a brighter future.

Distribution & IRL Activities

Although Mandarin is the offcial language of SeeDAO, our members are spreading around the world(20+ countries), with 20% living overseas. So a lot of them can also speak English or other languages, such as Russian and Japanese.

Now there are 10 city liaisons in SeeDAO’s network. They are responsible for SeeDAO’s IRL Community in London, San Francisco, New York, Dubai, Hongkong, Bangkok, Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore and Melbourne. For each city, city liaisons will hold a IRL party or meeting every month. They will also give our DAO members local guidance if they travel to these cities, help them to intergrate into the local communities.
